To start school is an easy job but a million dollar question is how to plan and execute scheme of model education which will inculcate in the students a strong character, qualities to face life and to develop physical, mental, cultural and spiritual qualities. I was faced with this dilemma when the management of Goodwill Education Society entrusted me
with the enormous responsibility of setting up a primary school in Cortalim village in June 1996. It was a challenge indeed considering that there already existed three established schools in the area being run by priests, nuns and private organizations.
I had to tread with caution convincing parents that Vidhya Vihar school would be operating on an inclusive formula of education wherein the parents views and suggestions would carry a lot of weightage. After the first academic year of operation there was no looking back as parents began flocking our school for admissions. It has always been my endeavour while imparting education to help each child to find the right path of life and mould him/her for an excellent living and establish a meaningful place in society.
The management of Goodwill Education Society has been very supportive and encouraging to all my efforts of innovative academic programs for the betterment of students. School Management has also provided excellent administration which has inculcated a sense of discipline accountability in every individual concerned with the development of the school and the students. Today the school can boast of achieving outstanding laurels and achievements in the field of academic, sports and cultural activities.
Since our first batch of SSC – X students achieved 100% results in the state Board Exams in April 2014 there has been no looking back.
In the academic year 2014 – 2015 the school achieved 100% results and the trend has continued till date.
On behalf of the school management I thank all the parents of our students from the village of Cortalim for entrusting the education of your wards to us. We assure you that we will make all possible efforts to meet your every expectation and continue provide global education to the students and pursue our efforts to achieve higher goals of expansion and growth.
