ICT Laboratory

Computers, software and networks are spreading ever faster in our everyday lives.
We use them in the office, at home, in the supermarket or at the airport. Few terms
such as “new technologies” or “computer science” are becoming increasingly
common in modern language.

To ensure that young people can live and work in today’s information society, we
need to teach them the basics for understanding the proper use of modern
information and communication technology as well as to convey a critical
assessment of their limits. In this respect, the ICT subject contributes to the
development of each student and promotes diligence and precision at work and in
the pupils’ mindsets.

ICT refers to all communication technologies, including the internet, wireless
networks, cell phones, computers, software, middleware, video-conferencing, social
networking, and other media applications and services.

The ICT curriculum for students aims to build understanding and knowledge of the
range of ICT resources and applications available for use in the teaching learning
process and appreciation of how integration of ICT can enhance their capabilities
including thinking and logical skills.

The ICT laboratory which also takes care of the NSQF (IT/ITes) curriculum is
equipped with state of the art computers with a Server and N computing clients. The
Govt. of Goa under the banner of the Goa Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan has also
sponsored 10 chromatics machines and laptops including projector and display
screen which has enabled the school management to provide the students with a
modern ICT laboratory. A DeskJet printer facility is available for students and
teachers. The lab also has wireless internet facility which the students can access for
educational purpose. The staff also use the lab for administrative and research work.

Our aim is to provide students with an environment that bridges theoretical
knowledge and practical application. Through this facility, they will gain the skills
needed to excel in ICT/NSQF (IT/ITes) and choose career options available in the
same field after completion of their Secondary School Education.
